Looking for a drive in the country with a welcome at the end? Then a visit to "Mona's of Muckhart" is simply a MUST!. Situated on the A91 at Pool of Muckhart the very best of food and homebaking await you! A bright and airy coffee shop with decking and seating outside, the owners pride themselves on fresh food prepared at your request and a friendly welcome! From a varied menu of light meals and snacks (inlcuding hot dishes) we sampled the chicken curry (delicious) and coronation chicken and banana toasted sandwich - followed by homemade Dutch applie pie and ice cream - what a treat!

Mona's caters for all ages with disabled access, a large car park and seating for 40 inside. They open all year round and at Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Easter, offer special three course meals. Mona's not only offers the usual teas, coffees and soft drinks, but is licensed to serve wine and beers with a meal! Great for those not driving!

With a range of gifts, cards and handbags available, with homebaking to buy and take away - Mona' really is worth a visit! Their food has been so popular that they've even expanded into outside catering ! So for the first time since this column began we award Mona's 5/5 teacups!

So did Robin Howie!

Robin's welcome comment is shown in more detail below.

The following article written by David Watts appeared in The Times on 10 September 2005.

Mona's Home Baking and Honey certainly hit the spot with David, as you can see from his last paragraph. We look forward to welcoming him again.

Why don't you drop in and try some too!

Our News section will be kept up to date with further reviews and items as they become available!
